Homeschool Prom: April 26, 2009 Join homeschoolers throughout the state for a very special night - created just for homeschoolers!
The Homeschool Prom of 2008 was a great success with over 150 teens in attendance. We are expecting an even more exciting prom in 2009 as we return to the Crown Ballroom!
DATE: Sunday, April 26, 2009
TIME: 7:00-11:00 p.m.
PRICE: $25 per person ($30 at the door)
Ticket price includes entrance to the dance, dessert buffet, and refreshments. Please use the order form below and mail it in as soon as possible to order your tickets. To ensure delivery of your ticket, your request must be postmarked by April 16, 2009.
WHERE: The Crown Ballroom is located on the 5th floor, 918 SW Yamhill Street in Portland. Visit the ballroom website at

WHO: The Homeschool Prom is for homeschoolers 14 years old through high school age. Dates are not required. If you do bring a date, your date does not have to be a homeschooler (but still at least 14
years old). One person in a "couple" needs to be a homeschooler. Bring your friend, or a date, and have the night of your life surrounded by homeschoolers throughout Oregon & southern Washington.
MUSIC: A variety of dance music will be provided by DJ Zeke! (All music will be profanity free.)
DINING: There are many restaurants close by for those who want to go out to dinner beforehand.
PARKING: Parking garage is right across the street from The Crown Ballroom at SMARTPARK on 10th & Yamhill - enter on 10th Avenue. Parking rates are 95 cents an hour. The ballroom is also on the Max line.
DRESS: To make this a truly special occasion, dress is formal. (No jeans, t-shirts, or tennis shoes)
HINTS: You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a prom dress or a new suit. Here are a few ideas:
- Check out sale racks and use department store coupons
- Visit Nordstrom Rack to find lots of good deals
- Try upscale clothing consignment shops
- Prom attire can be purchased on ebay
- Check out Goodwill
- Make your own dress
- Borrow a friend's dress
- For a free Prom dress check out Abby's Closet at
www.abbyscloset.org (They collect used prom dresses and give them to those in need)

- Box B: $20 - 2, 5x7's
- Box C: $20 - 1, 8x10
- Box D: $45 - 1, 8x10 / 2, 5x7's / 5, wallets
- Box E: $5/person for groups of 5 or more - 1, 4x6 per person
GUIDELINES: To make the dance comfortable and safe for everyone, the following will not be allowed:
- re-entry privileges to the dance
- making out
- inappropriate dancing
