Online charter schools are publicly-funded options for families who choose a home-based educational environment, with a traditional curriculum program. Charter schools are public schools. If your child is enrolled in an online public school, you do not need to register as a homeschooler, but you may participate in many homeschool programs while attending a public charter school.

Clackamas Web Academy
Clackamas Web Academy (CWA) is a public Charter School sponsored by the North Clackamas School District and accredited by AdvancED. The Fossil Distance Learning program is a tuition free, innovative, rigorous, and customizable virtual program that is hosted by Fossil Charter School. Klamath-Siskiyou Community School
We are offering a fairly different model of learn-at-home, homeschool education for our families. Our mission is to provide equitable resources, academic opportunities, enrichment activities, and teaching support to parents. We do not offer direct instruction to our students. Instead we provide PD (Pedagogy Development) to parents to help guide them along as they use a curriculum that best fits the needs of their families. But what really makes us different is the investment we make into homeschool families. Learn at Home Oregon is a K-8 home-based distance education program specifically designed to offer a blended model of live interaction, technology integration, and individual real-world, project-based learning. This customized learning model allows students to work at their own pace to maximize learning gains, close learning gaps, and accelerate new opportunities. The blended curriculums reinforce the concepts in contexts of how we actually use them every day in our lives. An individualized public program, Learn at Home Oregon is free and open to all residents of Oregon, and is offered through the Alsea School District, an accredited institution.
The Alsea school district also offers Options, a free online program for grades 6-12.
Metro East Web Academy
Metro East Web Academy is an online public charter school approved by the Oregon Department of Education. The school’s web-based curriculum meets Oregon state standards and Highly Qualified teachers provide the instruction. Each academy student receives a personalized education program designed to meet their unique needs. We allow students to login anytime, anywhere. The online learning is supported through daily e-mail communication with teachers, face-to-face check-in sessions with instructors, and field trips and community service projects with other academy students. MEWA offers programs for elementary, middle, and high school, as well as a GED program and an Early College program. There is also an Advantage Program to give students who are behind in credits the opportunity to earn all the credits they need for graduation at an accelerated pace.
Oregon Charter Academy (ORCA)
(Formerly Oregon Connections Academy associated with Pearson.) A tuition-free public virtual school founded over 15 years ago and chartered by the Santiam Canyon School District that serves students in grades K-12 throughout Oregon. We share a common goal with parents: to ensure that students become productive, successful, and confident adults. Oregon Charter Academy’s full-time online school program helps students build on their individual strengths and interests with support from highly-qualified teachers and an award winning curriculum. Oregon Connections Academy is a new tuition-free online public school that allows students to learn from home or anywhere there’s an internet connection. Authorized under state law by the Prairie City School District, Oregon Connections Academy is state certified and open to students throughout Oregon.
Oregon Virtual Academy (ORVA)
Curriculum and services provided by K12. For Oregon residents, learning can happen at home, on the road, or wherever an Internet connection can be found. While attendance, teacher interaction, and daily lessons are conducted online, our lessons use physical materials and offline tools as well. Because ORVA is a public school, there is no tuition.
Oregon Virtual Education (ORVED)
Oregon Virtual Education is a publicly-funded virtual charter school in Oregon that offers online classes to students in grades 6-12. Students can take one class or take classes full time while being at home. We offer a wide variety of courses including AP courses in every subject and a number of foreign language classes including Chinese.
Paisley Distance Learning Program

Willow Wind Community Learning Center
A public, part-time alternative program in Ashland that offers classes, tutorials, curriculum resources and counseling designed to support the diverse educational philosophies embraced by the families enrolled in the program while supporting the state and federal educational standards. Class offerings are created each semester and may cover subjects such as history, math, science, music, drama, natural history, art, gardening, and second language.
